We carry various mirrors designed for dual sport, adventure, off-road and supermoto motorcycles. The mirrors that come standard on most street legal dual sport, ADV and supermoto's generally work OK from a functional standpoint, but don't work very well for off-road riding. In some cases they can even do damage if they were to get bent or broken in a drop or crash. Specifically, take a look at how your stock mirror is threaded into the front brake reservoir housing. If that inflexible stock mirror were to get hit just right, it could do damage to this expensive piece the mirror is mounted to. This is where Double Take mirrors are superior to OEM mirrors, since they are designed to bend or rotate out of the way if they get hit.

Listed below you will find info on each of the types of mirrors we recommend for dual sport, adventure bike and supermoto riding...

BEST DUAL SPORT and OFF-ROAD MIRRORS: Double Take Enduro
If you do a lot of dual sport and off-road riding, we recommend the Double Take Enduro Mirrors. These mirrors utilize RAM mounts that allow easy installation/removal without tools, and also easy adjustment once mounted on the bike. You can even fold them down out of the way when not in use. The mirrors themselves are even guaranteed against breakage by Double Take. If the majority of your riding is off-road, we recommend the more dirt-worthy Enduro mirrors. If you do a lot of street and highway miles, with a smaller amount of time off-road, we recommend the Adventure Mirrors (see Best Adventure Bike Mirrors below). On some bikes, the Double Takes may vibrate a little bit under hard acceleration, but it's generally not bad and letting off the throttle will clear it up. We use the Double Take Enduro mirrors on all of our dual sport project bikes that see a mix off off-road riding and a bit of street riding.

PROS:
  • Very durable for off-road use
  • Easily adjustable and removable with no tools
  • Mirror is guaranteed against breakage
  • Excellent visibility to your sides and behind you

    CONS
  • Slight vibration at high RPM's

BEST ADVENTURE BIKE MIRRORS: Double Take Adventure
If you do adventure riding, which is typically a mix of street, highway and off-road riding, we recommend the Double Take Adventure Mirrors. These mirrors utilize RAM mounts that allow easy installation/removal without tools, and also easy adjustment once mounted on the bike. You can even fold them down out of the way when not in use. The mirrors themselves are even guaranteed against breakage by Double Take. If you do a lot of street and highway miles, with a smaller amount of time off-road, we recommend these Adventure Mirrors. If the majority of your riding is off-road, we recommend the more dirt-worthy Enduro mirrors (see Best Dual Sport Mirrors above). We use the Double Take Adventure Mirrors on our Yamaha Tenere 700, Honda Transalp XL750 and Honda CRF300L Rally project bikes.

    PROS:
  • Stable at highway speeds
  • Very durable for off-road use
  • Easily adjustable and removable with no tools
  • Mirror is guaranteed against breakage
  • Excellent visibility to your sides and behind you

    CONS
  • Don't look the best (but who really cares?)

BEST STREET MIRRORS: Supermoto Clamp-On Mirrors
If you do mostly street riding, we carry Supermoto Mirrors which clamp to your handlebars and hang just below the controls. These look great because they are mounted down low, and they work surprisingly well from a visibility standpoint. You do have to get used to looking down at the mirrors (as opposed to up like with normal mirrors), but once you do, visibility is excellent behind you and to your sides, and the mirrors do not vibrate like a lot of aftermarket mirrors do. We use these mirrors on all of our supermoto project bikes.

    PROS:
  • Look great since they are mounted low and out of the way
  • Excellent visibility to your sides and behind you
  • No vibration
  • Inexpensive

    CONS
  • Have to get used to looking down at mirrors since they are mounted low (becomes second nature though)

HONORABLE MENTION: Mirrors Integrated Into Handguards:
If you just want very basic and inexpensive mirrors, we offer mirrors that can be ordered as an option with some of our Zeta Armor and PRO Armor handguards. These mirrors look great because they are tucked into the handguard protectors and therefore are pretty hidden, which also makes them less likely to get damaged in a drop or crash. Functionally they work OK, but you can't see out of them as well as the Double Take and Supermoto mirrors above. The mirror itself is a small convex design, that rotates so you can adjust its angle, and it offers good visibility to your sides. But because its mounted inside the handguard, and not out very far to the sides, it doesn't offer good visibility of what is directly behind you. We don't personally use these on our project bikes because of that... I like to be able to see cars coming up behind me if I'm ever riding in traffic. Many off-road riders like these though because they are still relatively functional, while being tucked out of the way and less likely to get damaged if you drop the bike. These mirrors can be ordered as an add-on option with some of our Zeta Armor and PRO Armor handguard packages.

    PROS:
  • Look great since they are mounted within the handguard protectors
  • Good visibility to your sides
  • Inexpensive

    CONS
  • Very difficult to see what is directly behind you
  • Small size of mirror limits visibility
