We picked up our 2025 Suzuki DRZ4SM Project Bike in May 2026 and will be using it to test new DRZ4S / DRZ4SM aftermarket parts and accessories. Stay tuned for more updates as we install parts and accessories on the bike. You can follow along with our build at our Suzuki DRZ4 Build and Update Blog.
CURRENT SETUP:
Our 2025 Suzuki DRZ4SM Project Bike currently has the following mods and accessories...
COCKPIT:
The first couple things we pulled off our project bike were the factory mirrors and clutch/brake levers, replacing them with our favorite Supermoto Mirrors and Zeta Pivot Levers. Next we replaced the stock grips with our personal favorites, Pro Taper Pillow Tops. And like on all of our dual sport/supermoto project bikes, we went with a G2 Tamer Aluminum Throttle Tube.
If you want a set of handguards designed specifically for the new DRZ4S/SM, that fit right out of the box, check out the Barkbusters Handguard Kit for Suzuki DRZ4S/SM. We ran into a compatibility issue with those handguards though, and they basically will not fit the stock DRZ4 handlebars with our Supermoto Mirrors installed. So, we tried to find a set of handguards that are compatible with our mirrors, and went with the Cycra Ultra Probend CRM Handguards. Those aren't quite as easy to install as the Barkbusters on these bikes though, so we put together a Cycra Ultra Probend CRM Handguards Suzuki DRZ4 Installation Guide which shows how we installed them. Here's a couple links to those products...
M12 to M8 Thread Reducers / Adapters (1.25 thread) from Amazon or eBay
PROTECTION:
Several parts we've sold for the previous DRZ400 models, will also fit the new DRZ4... Warp 9's axle sliders, as well as Zeta's front sprocket cover, swingarm cover/heel guard and chain guide. We've also installed TM Designworks new plastic skid plate for the DRZ4 models.
One of the first things most DRZ4 owners will want to do is get rid of that big ugly plastic piece hanging off the back of the bike. Yoshimura's fender eliminator kit really cleans up the rear fender area, and changes the look substantially. It features a very bright LED tail light/brake light, and mounting bracket for the stock LED turn signals and license plate...
If you're looking for a lift stand that makes it easy to lift your DRZ4, this Bikemaster lift stand might just do the trick. The top plate of the stand features a thick non-slip rubber surface, and is height-adjustable to fit under most dirt and supermoto bikes. The foot lever design enables effortless lifting of your machine by just sliding the stand under your bike's frame, then stepping down on the lift arm to lift the bike and lock it in position.
