The Tenere 700's stock handlebars have threaded ends to accommodate the flimsy stock hand protectors, so if you want to install proper handguards, you will need the handguards to have the proper threaded inserts to fit the handlebars. Barkbusters has the solution with their new Handguard kit for the Yamaha Tenere 700.

This aluminum kit mounts to the end of your bars and then onto a second mount that clamps directly onto your bars, inward, in front of your controls. This two-point approach forms a cage around your hands and also protects your handlebar controls to prevent or minimize damage in a crash scenario. Bike-specific hardware for the Tenere 700 is designed to clear throttle cables, hydraulic lines and other interference found within individual bike models.

Bar End Weights are also included, which is a nice feature for a handguard, since it will help with vibration coming through the handlebars, which some riders complain about.

Optionally you can add on Barkbusters plastic guards that screw to the front of the aluminum guards. At this time we offer two styles, either the Storm or VPS (Variable Protection System) guards. Scroll through photos above to see them. Both are high-impact plastic deflectors designed to protector your hands/controls and provide wind protection.

** NOTE 2: These handguards will work with the bikes stock 1 1/8" handlebars, which are threaded on the ends. If you have installed standard aftermarket handlebars with hollow ends, then you will want to try a traditional style handguard. See our Motorcycle Handguard Section for some great options.
