   Handguards are one of the most popular modifications for the Honda CRF450RL / CRF450L / CRF450X, or any dual sport / off road bike for that matter. Handguards will protect your hands and the bikes controls from tree branches and other trail hazards, plus they can help prevent damage if you crash or drop your bike. Another side benefit is that they offer a bit of wind protection in cooler weather. We have simplified the whole process of buying the individual parts you need for handguards, by putting together a few package deals that allow you to select everything you need.  Our personal favorite handguards, and also our best sellers, are the Zeta Armor Handguards and Zeta PRO Armor Handguards. Listed below are some of the details and differences between the two... Zeta Armor Handguard Package... Zeta PRO Armor Handguard Package... Both Handguards... For the Honda CRF450RL / CRF450L / CRF450X, we recommend either the Zeta Armor Handguards or Zeta PRO Armor Handguards, but the majority of our customers go with the PRO's for reasons discussed below... OPTION 1: Zeta PRO Armor Handguards The Honda CRF450RL / CRF450L / CRF450X come from the factory with high quality aluminum Renthal handlebars in a 7/8" size. Because they are aluminum, we definitely recommend the Zeta PRO Armor handguards. The PRO's have a couple additional features like longer / stronger bar end inserts, protective plastic bumpers on the outside of the handguard, and optional mounting kits. For the mounting kit, you can go with the 7/8" handlebar clamps, or if you want to attach the in-board part of the handguard to your top triple clamp, we also offer Zeta's Triple Clamp mount for the CRF450L/RL. These handguards do a great job of protecting your hands/controls, and for the vast majority of riders, they work great. They come pre-drilled for mounting of the optional Zeta XC protector shields and Zeta LED flashers/turn signals. We're using these on one of our CRF450RL Project Bikes and really like the way they fit the bike with the stock Renthals. Links: OPTION 2: Zeta Armor Handguards If you're on a budget, or just want a basic handguard, the standard Zeta Armor Handguards will work great on the stock Renthal handlebars. You'd want to go with the 7/8" size handlebar clamps, or if you've upgraded to 1 1/8" handlebars, choose the 1 1/8" clamps. These handguards come pre-drilled for mounting of the optional Zeta XC protector shields and Zeta LED flashers/turn signals. We also allow an option to order the Zeta triple clamp mount kit that you can get with the PRO handguards above. Links: OPTION 3: Cycra Ultra Probend CRM Handguards Another one of our favorite handguards for the Honda CRF450L / CRF450RL is the Cycra Ultra Probend CRM Handguards. CRM stands for Center Reach Mount... these handguards extend over and clamp to your handlebars right next to the handlebar mounts. The CRM Ultra clamps provide maximum bite to secure handguards and allow for superior clearance on a wide range of bars, and the rise bend allows room for hand mobility, cables, hoses and access to air fork caps. We're using these on one of our CRF450RL Supermoto Conversions and really like the way they fit the bike. Links: When adding handguards to the bike, many of our customers will also replace their grips, throttle tube, and levers.
