HANDLEBARS:

One of the first things some riders change on their new CRF300L or CRF300L Rally is the handlebars. The stock handlebars on both bikes are 7/8" in size, made out of steel, and are very low in profile/height. Many riders will swap those out for a high quality aluminum handlebar, which is lighter and more durable for off-road riding, and some handlebar bends are taller, which means more comfort on the bike, especially when standing up.

Handlebar Sizing:
The stock CRF300L / CRF300L Rally comes from the factory with 7/8" size handlebars. If you want to stick with 7/8" handlebars, but upgrade to something more durable, all you'll need to do is pick out a new aluminum handlebar in that same 7/8" size and it will bolt right on. Some riders prefer an oversize 1 1/8" handlebar because it doesn't have the cross brace, which leaves more room on the bars to clamp things to. Also, the oversize bars typically will provide a little bit of flex (since there's no cross brace) while still being strong and durable. If you want to upgrade to oversize 1 1/8" handlebars on your CRF300L, you'll need adapters (see info below) to mount the larger 1 1/8" size handlebars. Please note that oversize handlebars are only "oversize" on the center part of the bar where it bolts up to the bike... they taper back down to 7/8" where the controls mount, that way all your stock controls will go right back on. And as mentioned, 7/8" handlebars will have a cross brace, whereas 1 1/8" bars typically will not.

Handlebar Bends:
Manufacturers like Renthal and Pro Taper offer their handlebars in a variety of bends so you can customize the fit and feel of your new bars. Which bend you choose is a personal preference thing, but we provide some recommendations below.

OUR RECOMMENDATIONS - 7/8" SIZE:
If you want to stick with 7/8" handlebars, all you'll need is new handlebars like the the Renthal 7/8" bars or the Pro Taper SE bars...

  • Renthal 7/8" handlebars

  • Pro Taper SE 7/8" handlebars

    OUR RECOMMENDATIONS - 1 1/8" SIZE:
If you want oversize 1 1/8" handlebars, you'll need 1 1/8" handlebars like the Pro Taper Contour, Pro Taper Evo or Renthal Fatbar. Additionally, you will need adapters to convert your bikes lower bar mount to accept the larger size handlebar. Pro Taper offers their Universal Solid Mount, which is an adapter that will convert your stock lower bar mount to the 1 1/8" size. Zeta offers a similar product called the Zeta UX3 Handlebar Clamp Kit.

    Pro Taper Contour Handlebars:
For the CRF300L, we like Pro Taper handlebars in the "CR Mid", "CR High" and "Henry/Reed" bends, and those seem to be popular with our customers. The CR Mid, for example, along with the Pro Taper Universal Solid Mounts, will be about 1 inch higher than the stock handlebars, and the CR High would be slightly higher than that...
  • Pro Taper Contour 1 1/8" handlebars

    Pro Taper EVO Handlebars:
  • Pro Taper Evo 1 1/8" handlebars

    Renthal Fatbar Handlebars:
For the CRF300L, the Renthal Fat Bar in the 839-01 (839 HON CRF 2018+) bend is very popular. If you want a slightly taller handlebar, we like the Renthal Fat Bar in the 605-01 (605 JOHNSON / CR HIGH) bend.
  • Renthal Fatbar 1 1/8" handlebars

  • CRF300L Handlebar Package (<--- all you need in one package!)

    7/8" to 1 1/8" Handlebar Conversion Adapters:
If you go with any of the 1 1/8" handlebars above, you will need adapters to convert your bikes lower bar mount to accept the larger size handlebar. Pro Taper offers their Universal Solid Mount, which is a drop-in bolt-on adapter that will convert your stock lower bar mount to the 1 1/8" size. Zeta offers a similar product called the Zeta UX3 Handlebar Clamp Kit...
  • Pro Taper Universal Solid Mounts

  • Zeta UX3 Handlebar Clamp Kit

  • Zeta PRO Armor Handguards
  • Pro Taper Pillow Top Grips
  • G2 Tamer Aluminum Throttle Tube
