We picked up our 2025 Honda CB750 Hornet Project Bike in early August 2025 and will be using it to test new CB750 Hornet aftermarket parts and accessories. The bike is a work-in-progress, but we have quite a few plans for the bike over the next couple months as more parts become available for this new-to-the-US model.

So far we've done the following mods to the bike...

COCKPIT:

One of my first minor complaints with our new Honda CB750 Hornet was the factory OEM mirrors. First off, I didn't really care for the look, and second, visibility was not the best... they really needed to have extenders so you can see around your shoulders. We pulled the stock mirrors off right away and have tried a few of the CRG Mirrors, mounted to the handlebars with our Rhino bar end slider / mirror mounts. We've tried all 3 of the CRG bar end mirrors we carry, including the Blindsight LS 2" mirrors, the Hindsight LS 3" mirrors, and the Arrow mirrors as well. All of them provide much better visibility than the stockers, and from a looks standpoint I think the Arrows look the best with the angular lines of the CB750, and the small Blindsight LS 2" mirror is probably our second favorite, followed very closely by the Hindsight LS 3". You can't go wrong with any of these mirrors, however, they just make the bike look so much better, and you can actually see out of them!

We also swapped out the stock clutch and brake levers for some of our personal favorites, the ASV F3 levers. We've run the ASV levers on several of our project bikes over the years, and they are a huge improvement over the stock levers. These levers have reach adjustment so you can fine tune their positioning. They just feel perfect too. I think it's one of the best upgrades you can do to the bike!

    EXHAUST / PERFORMANCE:

The stock Honda CB750 exhaust actually has a halfway descent sound to it, but it's a bit too quiet for my taste, plus it's not the nicest looking OEM exhaust. I'm not a fan of annoyingly loud bikes, but IMHO the sound a bike makes is part of the fun factor... a nice sounding bike is just more fun to ride. As of this writing, the only aftermarket exhaust available for the bike is from Akrapovic... they offer a slip on Carbon Fiber muffler and also a stainless steel header pipe. We started off by installing just the slip on muffler, to test it out with the stock ECU mapping. Later we plan to install the Akrapovic header pipe, and have the stock ECU flashed to take advantage of the full aftermarket exhaust. Stay tuned for that, but for now, the slip on muffler makes the bike look way way better... the carbon fiber looks great with our all black bike. And it does add a little bit extra to the soundtrack, although since there's still a cat on the bike, it's still pretty quiet overall.

    BODY / PROTECTION:

There's not a lot of protective bits available for the Honda CB750 yet, but slowly we're starting to see some offerings. We started off with Evotech axle sliders front and rear, and then added their Frame Sliders. The frame sliders are a really nice design, they utilize a mounting bracket on each side that attaches at 3 points to the frame and engine block, then the replaceable slider puck attaches to the bracket. Fitment is excellent and the installation was super easy.

We also installed Evotech's Fender Eliminator kit, which retains the stock tail light and turn signals, and re-positions your license plate and cleans up the rear of the bike very nicely. It's very simple to install and the fit/finish is typical Evotech, excellent.

Finally, we replaced the passenger seat with Puig's Rear Seat Cowl, which adds some styling to the already nice looking tail section of the CB750 Hornet.

    Here's what we've installed...

  • Evotech Frame Sliders CB750 Hornet

    STANDS / TOOLS:

The Honda CB750 Hornet doesn't come from the factory with any easy way to mount swingarm spools so that you can use a standard rear stand to lift the rear of the bike. We've found the best way to lift our CB750 project bike is the stand at the link below, which uses padded adapters to lift from the bottom of the swingarm. It works great! Click link below...

  • Stay tuned for more updates as we install parts and accessories on the bike.
