All of these new KTM 390 models come equipped with handlebars that have threaded inserts in the ends, so standard universal handguards will not fit. Barkbusters handguard kits include all the necessary hardware to mount up their aluminum handguard frames to the 390's stock handlebars with no modifications. The Barkbusters aluminum handguard mounts to the end of your handlebars, and then onto a second mount that clamps directly onto your handlebars, inward, in front of your controls. This two-point approach forms a cage around your hands and also protects your handlebar controls to prevent or minimize damage in a crash scenario. Bike-specific hardware for the KTM 390 is designed to clear throttle cables, hydraulic lines and other interference found within individual bike models. Bar End Weights are also included, which is a nice feature for a handguard, since it will help with vibration coming through the handlebars, which some riders complain about. Optionally you can add on Barkbusters plastic guards that screw to the front of the aluminum guards. At this time we offer two styles, either the Storm or VPS (Variable Protection System) guards. Scroll through photos above to see them. Both are high-impact plastic deflectors designed to protector your hands/controls and provide wind protection. FITMENT: * NOTE: The 2025+ KTM 390 models have threaded inserts in the ends of the handlebars, so the Barkbusters kit will include all the necessary hardware to work with those threaded inserts, allowing you to securely attach the handguards to the bikes stock handlebars.
