Corbeau TRS in a 98-01 Impreza
DESCRIPTION:
The Corbeau TRS (Targa RS) seat has the look and feel of a race/touring seat while still providing heavy padding and extreme comfort for drivers of all kinds. The Targa RS is designed to fit up to about a 36" waist. The wide version is 2" wider and will fit up to a 42" waist. Both are extra aggressive in shoulder area. Standard features include high-density injection molded foam, ergonomical design, integrated shoulder, kidney and thigh support, fully adjustable seat back, flip-forward fingertip controlled lever for rear access, 4 point harness capable, with an optional sub-belt hole for 5 point harnesses ($27 extra).
FIRST IMPRESSIONS:
The TRS seat and Corbeau bracket/slider fit the car well. Installing the bracket is quick and simple... four allen screws attach the seat to the bracket/slider, then the whole assembly is bolted into the stock seat mounting holes. Overall seat height is about 3/4" to 1" lower than the factory seat, which improves helmet clearance for taller drivers.
NOTE: The Corbeau seat bracket for the Impreza includes a mount for the factory female seat belt receptical to be bolted to.

INSTALLATION INFO:
Installing the Corbeau TRS takes between 20 minutes and an hour for each seat, depending on the installer’s experience. Below is more info on the installation in a 2001 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS.

| Installing The Bracket (click photo to enlarge) Installing the custom Corbeau bracket was simple. The seats are attached to the bracket with 4 allen screws. Once that is done, the whole assembly is bolted into the stock seat mounting points. The bracket includes a mount point for the factory female seat belt receptical to be bolted to.
| | | Installing The Seat (click photo to enlarge) The TRS seat and custom bracket/slider went in the car very easily. I found it easiest to start with the rear bolt near the center console, then install the other rear bolt, then lastly the front two bolts. Overall seat height is about 3/4" to 1" lower than the factory seat height.
| | | 5 Point Harness Capable The TRS seat is designed for 4 point harness use, and can be optionally ordered with a sub-belt hole to use with 5 point harnesses. The seat works great with the Schroth Rallye 3 and 4 harness belts for autocrossing.
| | | Corbeau Custom Seat Bracket Seat bracket bolts directly to the stock seat mounting points and makes for a very clean install. Brackets include sliders to allow seats to be adjusted forward and back. Seats have a fully adjustable seat back with flip-forward fingertip controlled lever for rear access.
| | | Corbeau TRS Seat vs Factory Seat As you can see the TRS is narrower and much more aggressive than the factory 2.5 RS seats. The standard width seat (as shown) is probably best for people with up to about a 36" waist. A wide version of the seat is also available.
