INSTALLING CRG HINDSIGHT LS MIRRORS AND RHINO MOUNTS ON OUR KAWASAKI Z900RS:
One of the first things we wanted to do on our latest Kawasaki Z900RS Project Bike was replace the stock mirrors. Functionally they are not bad at all, but I just don't care for the look, and how far they seem to stick out over the ends of the handlebars. On our previous Kawasaki Z900RS Cafe Project Bike we have a pretty trick setup with Rhino Moto Bar End Mirror Mount Sliders and CRG Blindsight LS (2") mirrors. The Rhino mounts thread into the stock handlebar ends, and feature replaceable sliders that protect your handlebars. They also have a mounting channel to mount up bar end mirrors. We chose the 2" CRG Blindsight LS mirrors for that bike because we like those smaller mirrors. On our new Z900RS project bike, we decided to go with a similar setup, but instead we chose the larger 3" CRG Hindslight LS mirrors.
We put together a Bar End Mirror Kit for the Kawasaki Z900RS that provides everything you need to mount aftermarket mirrors...

Rhino Moto Bar End Sliders:
These trick mounts from Rhino Moto, as shown in photo above, are not only mounts for your mirrors, but they also act as sliders and protect the ends of your handlebars in the event of a drop or crash. Installation is very simple since these are designed to thread into the threaded inserts in the ends of the stock Z900RS / Cafe handlebars. All you do is remove the stock bar ends, which are mounted into the ends of the handlebar with allen screws. Once those are removed, the Rhino Bar Ends insert into the ends of the handlebars, and the included long bolts thread right in to the threaded inserts that are inside the handlebars. Once mounted, they are very solid.

CRG Mirrors:
We're running the 2 inch CRG Blindsight LS bar end mirrors on our Kawasaki Z900RS Cafe project bike, so on this new standard Z900RS we decided to go with the 3 inch CRG Hindsight LS mirrors. All of the CRG mirrors have clamps that will fit directly into the channel on each of the Rhino Bar Ends discussed above, to secure them to the mounts. Because the bodywork and tank on the Z900RS has more of a rounded shape, we liked the look of these round mirrors from CRG, and ended up going with the CRG LS's, as shown in the photos above. Another option would be the CRG Arrow mirrors, but those tend to look better on bikes with more of an angular design to the bodywork, like the standard Z900 for example.
All of these CRG mirrors provide excellent visibility and do not vibrate. Additionally the LS style folding mirrors, and the Arrow mirrors, can be folded out of the way when necessary.

Which mirrors look best on the Kawasaki Z900RS / Cafe?
We get this question alot. Looks are obviously subjective, but we think the round shape of the CRG Blindsight LS or Hindsight LS mirrors best matches the rounded body lines and gas tank on the Z900RS and Cafe. The 3" round CRG Hindsight LS is what we've installed on this particular project bike, and we think they look great. All of the CRG mirrors look much much better than the stock mirrors, and they are more functional as well, since you can see much better out of a bar end style mirror (IMHO).

Mirror Hole Plugs:
One thing to note, when you install these mirrors on the Z900RS, you'll pull off the bikes stock mirrors, which then leaves the threaded holes in the clutch and brake lever perches. So, we also offer optional Kawasaki Z900RS Mirror Hole Plugs to plug the holes left when removing the stock mirrors, They're available in several colors, we went with Gold on our bike.
