 Home > Dual Sport > Tenere 700 Parts > Modification Guide > Footpeg Guide Footpegs are one of the most important, but often overlooked, parts of your bike. A good set of footpegs not only provides adequate traction with your riding boots, but they should also be comfortable and offer good support if you stand up a lot when riding off-road. Bikes like the Tenere 700 come from the factory with footpegs that are fine for street riding, but not the best choice for off-road riding. They include a rubber insert, which helps with vibration, but can be slippery in wet and muddy conditions. The stock pegs are also on the narrow side, which means they don't provide alot of comfort/support, especially when standing. Additionally, they are not as grippy as they need to be for more aggressive off-road riding. OUR RECOMMENDATIONS: We recommend replacing the stock footpegs with a wider and more durable footpeg, like those offered by DRC, Zeta Racing or Pivot Pegz. DRC makes an Ultra Wide footpeg that is very affordable and made out of durable steel that is powdercoated black. Zeta Racing makes a lightweight aluminum footpeg that is available in Anodized Blue or Black. Both of these footpegs have a 57mm step width, which is quite a bit wider than the stock footpegs, and each provides multiple rows of teeth/cleats for added grip. You can't go wrong with either of those, and you will feel the difference when riding off-road! Pivot Pegz footpegs are also another great choice. These pegs feature a super wide 60mm wide x 100mm long platform, and their unique pivoting design that allows them to adjust to the angle of your boot. Many riders swear by these footpegs! All of these footpegs mount directly to the Tenere 700 and are super easy to install. The DRC and Zeta footpegs require DRC brand footpeg springs and mounting pins, which we include with each purchase. Pivot Pegz come with all mounting hardware needed. |
