Ryan Thompson
Ryan started autocrossing in the year 2000 right after he bought a 2000 Honda Civic Si. His first event was a two day Champion of Champions event in Atlanta where he won the novice class. He's been competing in the SCCA STS class ever since. In 2003 he drove one of his sponsors (Brian Flanagan from FastechMotorsports.com) cars, a 1991 Honda Civic Si, at his first National Tour event and finished 4th in STS. He then started considering the costs of racing his dual purpose daily driver/autocross car versus building a dedicated race car. Realizing how much he was spending on tires and brakes, he decided to build a dedicated STS car, and went with a 1989 Honda Civic Si. So far in 2004, he's won the Ft. Myers National Tour event, placed 3rd at the Atlanta ProSolo, and 5th at the DC National Tour. Ryan is also looking forward to the Mazda Rev It Up event coming to Atlanta. In 2003, he finished 2nd in Atlanta and 11th in Charlotte. The 2nd place was good enough to get him one of the wildcard slots and a free trip to Laguna Seca for the finals.
Ryans sponsors include FastechMotorsports.com, PittmanPerformance.com, and KnowledgePerformance.net. You can view Ryans website at RDTMotorsports.com.
