We've used their kits on a few other bikes and they're always high quality, so we decided to install one on our MT-09 SP Project Bike. The Evotech kit re-uses the stock tail light/brake light, and eliminates the large plastic piece that hangs off the back of the bike and holds your license plate. It's designed to re-use your stock LED turn signals (although aftermarket LED's should work too). The Evotech tail light kit is CNC-machined from lightweight, durable aluminum, precisely attaches to existing mounting points on the bike with no modifications, and includes a replacement, high quality LED license plate light.
Installation: Installation of this kit involves assembling the kit using the bikes stock turn signals (or aftermarkets) as shown in the photo above. Once you do that, it's ready to mount on your bike in place of the stock license plate assembly. As mentioned, it re-uses the stock tail light. The kit is designed in such a way that there is no exposed wiring, so all turn signal and license plate light wires are internal, and the end result is a very clean and almost OEM look.
Final Verdict: The Evotech tail tidy really cleans up the back end of the Yamaha MT-09 very nicely, and improves the overall look quite a bit. I really like the fact that Evotech designed it so that there is no exposed wiring, which makes it look like it's something that was original equipment on the bike. If you want a fender eliminator kit that gives you a traditional license plate mounting location, I think this is the kit to go with.
