Crash protection should be near the top of every MT-09 / XSR900 owners shopping list, and frame sliders / axle sliders are one of the most important parts to consider. These could help limit damage to your bike, whether it be a simple tip over in the garage, or a low side out on street. It's also a good idea to protect that expensive radiator from road debris being kicked up off your front tire. Here's what we installed... Evotech Radiator Guard Yamaha MT-09 The Evotech radiator guard (shown above) is a must on these bikes, since our MT-09 SP came stock with just a cheap plastic guard. The Evotech guard is cheap protection for that expensive radiator, protecting it from stuff flying up off your front tire. These guards feature light-weight, all-aluminum construction, and are fabricated for precise fit and easy installation The EP hexagonal matrix hole-pattern provides a strong, rigid defense against road debris, while still allowing maximum airflow for all-important radiator cooling.
Evotech Frame Sliders Yamaha MT-09: The Evotech frame sliders are easily fitted using pre-existing mounting points on the bike, with no modifications required. These Frame Sliders protrude from each side of the motorcycle’s chassis to guard against accidental damage in a tip over, low side, etc. Intended to receive impact first, should an incident occur, the hard-wearing Evotech sliders are reinforced with an aluminum core. For an accurate fit, the left and right hand sliders have individual designs with all required parts and fastenings included in the kit. Super easy install with all mounting hardware included.
Evotech Front and Rear Axle Sliders Yamaha MT-09: On a bike like the Yamaha MT-09 and XSR900, it's important to add protection for the front/rear axle nuts, brake calipers, lower forks, swingarm, etc. One simple way to do that is a quality set of axle sliders. Evotech Swingarm Spools Yamaha MT-09: The Evotech swingarm spools thread directly into existing holes in the swingarm, and allow you to lift the rear of the bike using a lift stand like the one we use from Pit Bull. They also provide additional protection since they act as sliders as well. Other Protective Products Yamaha MT-09: We also installed a Woodcraft Stator Cover and Woodcraft Clutch Cover. We do not carry these products at this time, but they can be purchased direct from Woodcraft.
