MOUNTING AFTERMARKET MIRRORS ON YOUR YAMAHA MT-07:

The stock mirrors are one of the very first things we usually replace on our project bikes, for a couple reasons. Normally they do not look that great, and a lot of times they don't provide the best visibility. The stock MT-07 mirrors are the standard street mirrors that Yamaha puts on most of their street bikes, and we've never really liked them. They don't look that great, and functionally they don't provide the best visibility, especially on the left side where I'm basically looking at my shoulder.

On previous project bike builds we've used a combination of Rhino Moto bar end slider / mirror mounts along with CRG Bar End mirrors. You simply can't go wrong with products from these two companies, and we probably have their products on 4 or 5 of our builds. The photo above shows the various CRG bar end mirrors installed on our project bike.

We put together a Bar End Mirror Kit for the Yamaha MT-07 that provides everything you need to mount aftermarket mirrors...

Yamaha MT-07 Rhino Moto Bar End Sliders

Rhino Moto Bar End Sliders:
These trick parts from Rhino Moto, as shown in photo above, not only act as mounts for your mirrors, but they also act as sliders and protect the ends of your handlebars in the event of a drop or crash. Installation is very simple since these are designed to thread into the threaded inserts in the ends of the stock MT-07 handlebars. All you do is remove the stock bar ends with an allen tool, and the Rhino Bar Ends thread right in and replace them.

Yamaha MT-07 with CRG Blindsight LS Mirrors
Yamaha MT-09 with CRG Arrow Mirrors

CRG Mirrors:
We tested several different CRG bar end mirrors on our MT-07 project bike. If you want a traditional round mirror, go with either the 2" CRG Blindsight, 2" CRG Blindsight LS folding mirror, or the 3" Hindsight LS folding mirrors. The CRG Arrow Mirrors also look great on the MT-07... their angular design matches the bodywork on the MT-07 very nicely. We ended up going with the CRG Blindsight LS mirrors on our MT-07, as shown in the photos above. I use these Blindsight mirrors on several of my bikes, and like the small 2" size. They look great, and visibility is excellent even with the smaller sized mirror.

All of these mirrors provide excellent visibility and do not vibrate. Additionally the LS style folding mirrors, and the Arrow mirrors, can be folded out of the way when necessary.

Mirror Hold Plugs Yamaha MT-09

Mirror Hole Plugs:
One thing to note, when you install these mirrors on the MT-07, you'll pull off the bikes stock mirrors, which leaves the ugly threaded holes in the clutch and brake perch. So, we also offer optional Yamaha MT-07 Mirror Hole Plugs to plug the holes left when removing the stock mirrors. See photo above showing them installed on our Yamaha MT-09.

Which mirrors look best on the Yamaha MT-07?
We get this question alot. Looks are obviously subjective, but we think the angular shape of the CRG Arrow mirrors really matches the lines on the MT-07, and those mirrors look great on the bike. We also like the 2" round CRG Blindsight LS, which is what we're currently running on our MT-07, and I really like the look of them as well. If you want something slightly larger than the Blindsight LS, go with the 3" round CRG Hindsight LS. All of these CRG mirrors look much much better than the stock mirrors, and they are more functional as well since you can see much better out of a bar end style mirror.
