Keith Casey
With all credit to Fedja Jeloskivic, Keith began autocrossing in 1997 with New England Region SCCA driving his 1995 Eagle Talon when the 1/4 mile just wasn't cutting it anymore. Fedja mentioned this thing called "autocross" where going straight doesn't really happen that much, if at all. After a few years autocrossing casually (a.k.a. learning to drive and not necessarily doing well) with both SCCA and Boston chapter of BMWCCA, Keith kicked his racing into gear in 1999 with his black Subaru 2.5RS aptly gistered URABUS.

The 2000 race year (April - October) was much better with Keith earning class wins with both NER SCCA ST-R and the Boston BMWCCA. 2000 also marked his first trip to Kansas where he finished a respectable 18th out of 46 in the STS Solo II class.

2001 brought the Subaru WRX to the United States and Keith upgraded his 2.5RS for the turbo charged "grocery-getter" (silver WRX wagon) 3 days before the season's opening race. Finishing 3rd in GS at the SCCA Solo II National Tour in Ayer, MA and 16th out of 38 at the SCCA Solo II National Championships, Keith repeated his class wins with NER SCCA and Boston BMWCCA.

Keith traded the R-Compounds for street tires in 2002 and joined the newly formed SCCA STX crew. Pre-season mods completed by lead sponsor subaruwrxparts.com transformed his WRX into the mighty agile grocery getter it is today (detail below). He also upgraded his driving techniques by competing in snow-covered rally-crosses in Maine and New Hampshire. Keith's strategy proved an effective one with a win at the Pro in Peru and 2nd at Petersburg's Pro as well as the Rome, NY Solo II Tour. With the jinx from SportsCar Magazine being towed from MA to Topeka, Keith earned a 2nd place finish in the Pro Solo Finale, 2nd in the Honda Street Challenge (God Bless Red Lights) and 7th out of 22 in Solo II STX.

The frozen tundra of New England has once again limited Keith to the occasional ice-race, rally-cross, PS2 Gran Turismo, the NASIOC (North American Subaru Impreza Club), and of course, planning for an even more successful 2003.

Keith had a very successful 2003 season. He took home the Sports Car Club of America STX National Championship in both Pro Solo and Solo II. Congrats Keith!
