It is constructed from high-grade sandblasted titanium for the muffler outer sleeves, a stainless-steel link pipe, and carbon-fibre end caps with imprints. The twin muffler configuration ‒ one exiting on either side of the seat ‒ is finished with honeycomb noise inserts within the end caps, as seen on many Akrapovič-supported racing motorcycles, including Grand Prix machinery. The engineers focused on throttle response and rideability throughout the development process, while also providing enhanced performance. This product is fully EC/ECE type approved and Euro5+ compliant, with simple plug-and-play installation. Soon, Akrapovic will release additional optional products for Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono / RVE, including a titanium header pipe. We've tested this product on our Ducati Hypermotard 698 Project Bike. FIT AND FINISH: Fitment of this Akrapovic Titanium slip-on on the bike is excellent, and installation was very quick and easy. The mufflers are a bit longer than the stock mufflers, as well as some of the other aftermarket mufflers, but they are spaced out away from the bike enough to work with most fender eliminator kits. This exhaust will fit fine with the stock tail and license plate mount, and with the NRC Fender Eliminator Kit, it sticks out just past the license plate (when in standard position), but clears it by about 1/4" on each side, so no fitment issues. With these mufflers, you re-use the stock plastic heat shields that attach to the mufflers, and you also re-use the rubber inserts for the two main muffler mounting points on the sub-frame, all other mounting hardware, including springs, is included. This slip-on looks excellent with the titanium finish and glossy carbon fiber end caps. At first I thought the larger size of the mufflers might not look quite right, but after installing, I'm very very pleased with how they look on the bike! SOUND: If you're looking for a stealthy exhaust that's on the quieter side, this is definitely one to consider (along with the SC Project SC1-S Carbon slip-on). I'm not a fan of really loud exhaust systems, and the Hyper 698 seems to be a loud bike with the various aftermarket exhaust we've tried. I wanted something that looked nice, and was slightly louder than the stock exhaust, with a better sound. IMHO, if you're looking for more of a quiet exhaust, the Akrapovic Titanium slip-on is one to consider. It's slightly louder than the stock exhaust system, and has a nicer more aggressive sound to it. For me, this is probably one of my favorite exhaust systems I've tried on the bike so far, thanks to that quieter exhaust note. It's not going to produce as much power as a full race exhaust, but for me, this bike makes plenty of power as is (and will even more so when an ECU flash is available), so I'm more concerned about the sound the bike makes, and the look of the exhaust, than its power potential. ** IN STOCK - Usually leaves warehouse in 1-3 business days. >> Shop for more Ducati Hypermotard 698 Parts |
